Things that age your skin faster.
Sunlight. – Not wearing sunblock at all times.
Your skin can still be damaged even if it’s crowded outside without direct sunlight. It’s crucial to wear Sun Block (SPF 30 or more).
Sun damage can cause spots and wrinkles.
Tobacco use – Long-term effects include dry skin, uneven skin pigmentation, baggy eyes, a saggy jawline, and deeper facial wrinkles.
Smoking is known to lower plasma’s vitamin C and B-carotene, A levels.
Not washing off makeup before bed.
I am guilty of doing this after a long night out.
Makeup mixed with dirt and pollution that builds on the skin can hinder its ability to renew itself at night successfully. And this is what can cause premature aging.
Not enough sleep
Dull Skin. Inadequate sleep raises your cortisol levels. This hormone triggers inflammation, which breaks down the proteins that keep your skin smooth and glowing.
Too much Alcohol
Alcohol causes your body and skin to lose fluid (dehydrate).
Alcohol’s diuretic (water-loss) effect also causes you to lose vitamins and nutrients—for example, vitamin A and C.
